Hebrews 3:4, 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
Knowledge is an often used term among us. There are several means by which we can gather knowledge in today’s technology driven world. Man makes use of all these means to gather knowledge, resulting in destruction. Man however does not desire to know the Keeper of all wisdom, God almighty. This leads man towards the path of destruction. Man is always on the lookout and curious to know more about the creation of God rather than the creator, God Himself. The result is the loss of light of the soul. Man is now under the control of sense organs and tries to gather knowledge only through them.
Hosea 4:6,my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
Hosea 4:1, “There is no faithfulness, no love, no acknowledgment of God in the land.
Wisdom 8: 7, All the virtues are the result of Wisdom’s work: justice and courage, self-control and understanding. Life can offer us nothing more valuable than these.
What is more valuable than wisdom on earth???
The Heavenly Father had instructed our first parents, Adam and Eve that they could eat the fruit from any tree in the garden of Eden, except one. If they ate that fruit they would die. Eve fell into the snares of Satan while trying to gather knowledge and got the punishment of banishment from Eden. This incident teaches us the lesson that we should not try to gather knowledge from that which is forbidden to us.
1 Corinthians 2:12-15, 12 We have not received this world’s spirit; instead, we have received the Spirit sent by God, so that we may know all that God has given us. 13 So then, we do not speak in words taught by human wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, as we explain spiritual truths to those who have the Spirit 14 Whoever does not have the Spirit cannot receive the gifts that come from God’s Spirit. Such a person really does not understand them, and they seem to be nonsense, because their value can be judged only on a spiritual basis. 15 Whoever has the Spirit, however, is able to judge the value of everything, but no one is able to judge him.
The Lord appeared before Solomon in his dream and asked, 1 Kings 3:5, 5 That night the Lord appeared to him in a dream and asked him, “What would you like me to give you?” To this Solomon answered, 9 So give me the wisdom I need to rule your people with justice and to know the difference between good and evil. Otherwise, how would I ever be able to rule this great people of yours?”
His reply pleased the Lord and he was blessed. 1 Kings 3: 10-14, 10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this, 11 and so he said to him, “Because you have asked for the wisdom to rule justly, instead of long life for yourself or riches or the death of your enemies, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you more wisdom and understanding than anyone has ever had before or will ever have again. 13 I will also give you what you have not asked for: all your life you will have wealth and honor, more than that of any other king. 14 And if you obey me and keep my laws and commands, as your father David did, I will give you a long life.”
Solomon hence is known as the wisest among the wise. The one blessed with wisdom by God becomes wise and understands good and bad. He also becomes deserving of praise both among men and in heaven. The best example here is Solomon’s wisdom in judgement of the two women with babies.
We mainly gather knowledge through hearing and sight. What should we search for and reach first, God or the world??? Many a times our ears and eyes lead us on the path to wrong knowledge.
Even the disciples and Mary Magdalene who lived and experienced Jesus were unable to recognize Him. When the disciples saw Jesus walking on water they didn’t recognize Him and shouted in fear as they feared seeing a ghost. After the crucifixion of Jesus, when Mary Magdalene reached the tomb she too didn’t recognize Him. She mistook Him as the gardener. She asked where is Jesus’s body. Both the disciples and Mary failed to recognize Jesus even after seeing Him. But they recognized Him when he called out to them. They recognized Him by His voice.
John 8:12, “I am the light of the world,” he said. “Whoever follows me will have the light of life and will never walk in darkness.”
John 14:6, 6 Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one goes to the Father except by me.
For us to identify any object or person we need to have light. We need to light to see where we are going. The Lord Almighty is everything: The Way, The Truth and The Light. Those who follow Him with full devotion and submission will always be in light away from darkness. They will see the reality of life in its true form and never falter.
There is a vacuum/void in every human. To be able to fill this void man runs after the several means available in the world. Those who realize the truth that this void is the emptiness/ thirst of the soul for the Lord, will go in search of the Lord who is the keeper of all souls and are content. They do not make the use of the sense organs to reach the Almighty, rather use their souls to connect with Him. Such people find contentment on earth and join the Father and Son in Heaven.
Dear Children of God, it is up to you to decide what you want: Knowledge or Wisdom???Matthew 16:26, 26 Will you gain anything if you win the whole world but lose your life? Of course not! There is nothing you can give to regain your life.
Pause a minute. Look within yourself. How much did the knowledge you gained has helped you grow??? How did it bring you to ruin???? Dear Children of God the time to think is passing by fast. Decide fast.
