1 John 1:7, …the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
1 Peter 2:24-25, 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,” but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
Each one of us loves someone; parents, wife, husband, children. The list goes on. But the Bible says about God’s love as Romans 5:8, 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Like 2000 years ago, wouldn’t it be enough to offer sacrifice/offering to the Lord like our forefathers?? Why did the Holy one become the lamb of sacrifice??? The reason is that none of the offerings were pleasing in the eyes of the Lord. Leviticus 17:11, 11 For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.
The Lord saw that the offering of bulls, goats or lambs were not enough to atone for the sins of man. Yet there is no one born on earth who has not sinned. Romans 3:23, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,.
Ecclesiastes 7:20, 20 Indeed, there is no one on earth who is righteous, no one who does what is right and never sins. Hence, the blood of a man cannot atone for the sin of another. To wash away the sins of a sinner the blood of the holy one is required.
Ephesians 1:4-7, 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace…
The Holy Bible teaches us that it is only the Lord who is called upon as the holy one, Isaiah 6:3, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
The Son of God was born without mortal sin, conceived by the Holy Spirit through a virgin, named Mary. Matthew 20:28, 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” The predecessor to Jesus, John the Baptist says this about Jesus, John 1:29, …“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”.
1 John 1:7, … the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
We have heard often about kidnapping and abduction for ransom. Rich industrialist, famous people are abducted in exchange of release of criminals or for money. For us, in exchange of deliverance from sins, Heavenly Father gave up His only Son. Galatians 3:13, 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.”
1 Peter 1:18-19, 18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1 Timothy 2:6, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people.
In this way, Heavenly Father gave up His only Son for our salvation? What love is this?? John 3:16, 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:36, 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
God, our Father loves us all. But what can we do for Him?? Acts 16:31, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” This is not something that should be word say, but accept it in your heart that for us He suffered on the cross. Take it into your heart and try not to wipe it away or tarnish it with your sins.
1 John 1:9, 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Believe this from your heart and repent from your sins. There is no expense from our side since it is the love, compassion and mercy of the Lord. It not because of our own actions but grace of God. Repent and repeat it from your heart: Wash away my iniquities with your holy blood and make me clean. Let us try to lead a life away from sin. May this be our offering to the Lord for the love and mercy He showed us.
